After Srila Prabhupada disappeared, there was a lot of fighting within ISCKON for power of the movement. My Guruji stepped back from that. There was a lot of criticizing of the Gaudiya Matha in ISCKON at that time. A lot of ISCKON disciples were confused. Imagine that Srila Prabhupada would want his disciples criticizing the mathas of his own Gurudeva Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Prabhpada-- never never and never. But they were confused because they were told to stay away from them.......... advise given by an omniscient being, Prabhupada himself, who knew past present and future, and he told it for a reason. My Gurudeva, the only godbrother that Prabhupada hinted might take care of the American disciples, stood back and watched quietly, not getting involved. And then when non-devotees tried to seize ISCKON, my Guru Maharaja came like a lion, for a minute, and he testified in court to help Prabhupada's disciples maintain their positions in ISCKON. He did what he could to help them when it was needed.

Then many years later, Srila Narayana Maharaja came west, precisely when it was his time, and he began to preach his mission. But he was not allowed into ISCKON to preach. I think it was just last year there was some sort of apology for that, but it wasn't complete, for there were all sorts of restrictions penciled into the apology/invitation, asking Gurudeva to say things that went against his philosophy. Seems to me if there's an apology it should be a sincere one, or else it's not worth much.

Bhaktivedanta Narayana Maharaja doesn't need to come to ISCKON or do anything to prove his relationship with his siksa-guru. He is very senior vaisnava, so should be respected. the truth will make it's way around eventually- it always does.

You have pointed out the bizzare attitude of SOME of BVPrabhupadas disciples who are criticizing a maha-bhagavat, namely Gurudeva BVNarayana. Don't worry so much- things are happening as they should. My Guru Maharaja came to America at precisely the perfect time to give the same thing as BVPrabhupada. They may have different personalities in some small ways but they are the same in tattva, same in sastras, both perfect examples of the Gaudiya-vaisnava line.

Always there is a mahabhagavat available to us but he's not cheap, not always easily recognized. And if any devotee is sincere, not just trying to be sincere but actually ready-has some sukrti- the mahabhagavat will reveal himself to that person, and there will be no doubt. But to turn against any senior vaisnava who is deeply in the movement, not thinking clearly on who they actually are in tattva, has ALWAYS been strongly discouraged. We know we should never, ever do that. Especially BVNarayana who assisted BVPRabhupada in so many ways, spent decades with him in the matha intimately exchanging hari-katha together for hours every day, assisted in his sanyasa ceremony, used to send him all sorts of mrdngas and items from India when he first came to America, performed his samadhi etc. I would be very leary to jump all over that boat of fools.

BVNarayana prays to BVPrabhupada as his Guru with a tear. The love between them cannot be understood by general people or even devotees who aren't on their level. BVPrabhupada wanted to protect the mathas in India, keep them SOMEWHAT separate on a level from all the crimes that were to occur by the monkeys and the groups the he knew would co-opt ISCKON. It's not that he was trying to desert his American disciples (the manymany sincere ones). On the contrary he gave them the books and the temples (and especially the mantra) and everything they needed to continue their KC and make some advancements. But we've got a long way to go! Transcending matter is not an easy task.

The disciplic line goes on still as the movement grows bigger yet. If you pray very sincerely and with diligence, specifically for a mahabhagavat to appear again in your life, he will reveal himself to you. This is the process, which is spelled out in all the sastras. If we keep advancing in this way, we will quickly see that KC goes deeper and deeper.

If your mother tells you to serve her do you have to go to someone else to find out how? If she tells you to be a vegetarian and offer your food to Krishna do you have to go to a meat eating whore in order to get HER advice on how to serve your own mother? Listen to your mother and stop listening to the drunkard meat eating prostitute, that is how you serve your own mother.

I don't need anyone telling me how to serve my own mother and I don't need anyone telling me how he thinks I should serve my own guru. Prabhupada wanted Narayana to join his movement and help spread Krishna Consciousness but NM refused while Prabhupada was here. Only AFTER he left did NM try to take over Prabhupada's society with all the wealth and Western disciples and guide them into his way of following Prabhupada, and after saying his own guru is more advanced than Prabhupada too!

If his advice is to reject Prabhupada as not giving as much knowledge as he does I say reject such a person and never listen to a word from his mouth. Stay as far away from such a person as possible. That is how I treat such a bogus "guru" as Narayana Maharaja!
