Hey Everyone,

I was wondering if anyone knew the best place to get a copy of this most divine piece of writing. I have read the Ramayana and the Bhagavad Gita and am very interested in reading the bhagavatam. I did have barnes and noble look it up, they told me they could order it, but the one in it's entirety from Swami Prabhupada has a listing price of almost $600.00, or you can buy each Canto seperatly. It is not necessary for me to have one interpereted by Prabhupada so if anyone knows of where I might be able to find this I would greatly appreciate it.

Wow, Barnes and Noble has quite a mark up.

    You can get it here:krishna.tv/Merchant2/merchant.mvc

    for $175. Beautiful big books.

At the bottom of the page there is a small book version for $125

If you are willing to read online it is available online as well.

Also there is a one book version that whenever I've seen it is about $100-$150.

The Srimad Bhagavatam is 18000 verses so it is a large work, much larger than the Bhagavad Gita, so I doubt you will find it for much less than these prices.

    Good luck,

    Makhanchor das

There is only one version in english and that is Prabhupada's one, yes you can get it new in India for cheaper but it will still run more than $100.

Yes I quite often check the book stores for old gems of Srila Prabhupada. I found a copy of the hardback McMillan Gita with the sanskrit and everything at a sale a while back for $3. I couldn't believe it.

OK Here it is for free-online.

This site has the verses and then if you want to read the purport just click on the verse number. Just in case you can't wait until your hard copy arrives. : )

I downloaded the file and probably still have it on my computer, but couldn't figure out how to decompress it or whatever. Do you know how to do that?

The reality is for me I much prefer reading a book anyway to a computer screen. But I would still like to have it in that form in addition to the folio. (and books)

I have the old set with 3 volumes per most cantos, just like they were when we were distributing books in the airport in the old days. I remember being in Alaska airport when some guy came through with the fifth canto part two and we were trying to talk him in to trading it to us for something else because it had just come out and we hadn't seen it yet. Those old bookds are quickly becoming collecters items.
